Calls For Calm After Eugene Terre'Blanche's Murder And Inspiration from the Poem - 'Right Now'

* Appeals for calm from both sides - black and white - in the wake of the murder of
Eugene Terre Blanche.Terre Blanche was the leader of the AWB - a white ultra-right
political organization.He was allegedly killed by his two black farm employees.
This murder of 'ET' - he was commonly known - could have easily been viewed by his AWB supporters
as political,and therefore to be used as an excuse to avenge their leaders' death.
This political motive for the killing angle having been made stronger,ofcourse, by the recent revival of the public singing of the struggle song -"Shoot the Boer" - by ANC Youth League President,Julius Malema.
Fortunately,the few calls for reprisals immediately after the news of the death quickly died
down.It would seem the many calls for calm heads were indeed heeded.

In this poem Marston talks about appreciating the 'precious now' instead of worrying about
what the future holds.For example,he says we must marvell at the beauty of just being alive.
As he puts it:
