Last Minute FIFA World Cup Ticket Sales And BIG NUZ's Big Night at the MTN SAMAs

* The start this week(on Thursday) of the over the counter sale of the FIFA World Cup tickets.
It is a phase called 'last minute sales',which means everything must go.
This latest way of selling the World Cup tickets is much simpler for football fans and this must be
welcomed.One simply goes to an FNB branch,or selected Shopprite supermarkets,pays in cash for a ticket and there and then their seat is confirmed.Unlike the old way of applying first and then waiting for a reply from FIFA.
This 'pay and get right away' is more or less how we buy our soccer tickets for local games.It is no wonder some of the FNB branches were mobbed when this phase started on Thursday.
But all in all kudos to FIFA for adapting to local conditions.This over the counter sale
of World Cup tickets is a apparently first for FIFA.
With around 500,000 tickets made available for this phase we urge Mzansi citizens to go out
and secure their seats for this first FIFA World Cup on African soil.



* A huge night for KZN kwaito group - BIG NUZ - at the SAMAS(South African Music Awards)
last night.Big Nuz walked away with the much coveted award of 'Record of The Year' for their
kwaito hit 'Mlilo'.
I was happy for these guys.Last year they came close in this category.'Mlilo' is a damn fine song.It is kwaito - a form of local dance music that combines house music beats with loca(vernacular) rap lyrics - at its best.When it starts to play you just want to shake it on the dance floor.
With 'Mlilo' Big Nuz proved that kwaito is indeed alive and well.They say as much in their video of
the song.
Big Nuz also won 'Best Kwaito' album and 'Album of The Year' for their album - 'Undisputed' - in which 'Mlilo' is featured.
